It has only recently come to my attention that I am a slow learner. I have developed a tendency to repeat my mistakes and fail to learn the lessons that are laid out before by my life experiences. I'm that guy, and I don't know if there are enough excuses to account for such continual stupidity, or even whom to direct my apologies. But in my defense, I just found out.

Human nature is basically hateful.

When people wonder about the cause of maniacal high school shootings, it seems the point is missed. Human nature is hateful, and those of us who don't act out are bucking the trends. So you love your mother, so what? That doesn't mean you won't be the shooter some day.

Recently, scientists debated whether Pluto was actually a planet. It's not like we were hallucinating Pluto. There is actually a rock floating out there in space in the Pahrump of the Milky Way. The question is whether Pluto is important enough to be called a planet.

In elementary schools, there is no doubt that Pluto is one of the nine planets. Why? Because we teach our kids that there are nine planets, and so far no one has come up with a Pluto-replacement.
