Blog Vegas V: The Butterfly Effect
Logan's Terminal C is a nasty place. It has one bathroom that is straight out of a slasher flick and crowded, narrow halls. I need food so it's pizza slices and water. Not gourmet and not horribly satisfying, but the alternative is Starbucks (yeah, the terminal is that bad). Okay, there's a mini-version of Legal Seafoods on the other side of the terminal but that seems like too much of a commitment.
Boarding finally at 10:15pm but we still have another 30 minutes before take off. I don't really begrudge JetBlue for the delay, but I'm already feeling pretty soiled and my trip hasn't even begun yet. I don't fly this airline much but the 5th row is as spacious as my bedroom. It's really kind of novel (remember to check my seat assignments for my next flight.) I can stretch my feet out and the flight was only half full, so my center seat partner got up to find a window towards the back. (Unfortunately leaving me with his friend, a talker. I can tell these things. I plunked my headset on and plugged into JetBlue's Direct TV even though it was still a blue screen to avoid making contact with him.) Despite avoiding any caffeine intake today, I can't sleep and so I spend a long 5 hour flight on truly, horrifyingly vacant programming on MTV. I was aiming for the James Bond marathon on Spike, but no such luck on this flight. A string of hook-up shows (That's Amore!) is MTV's idea of late-nite programming.
Final tally: 1 hour of sleep out of a possible five. Bonus: we landed just in time to move the clocks forward for Daylight Savings Time.
